“Innovations in Energy”

Moderated by Frank Sesno, Planet Forward Co-Founder and Host

  • Live taping of National PBS Special to air in the lead-up to Earth Day featuring the best ideas from citizen innovators
  • You decide during the taping who is the "Planet Forward Innovator of the Year"
  • Guest panelists include journalist Andrew Revkin, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, and DuPont Chief Innovation Officer Thomas Connelly

March 9th, 615 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Jack Morton Auditorium, (805 21st St NW)

Join Planet Forward, a project of George Washington University's Center for Innovative Media, as it charts new territory, turning our citizen contributors into energy pioneers.  Hundreds of committed innovators have submitted their cutting-edge solutions to our energy challenges.   Now YOU get to decide which one among them has the best chance to make history.

During the program, we'll present the top ideas to a panel of influential leaders in the energy field.  The experts will offer their thoughts, but YOU and the rest of our studio audience will have the final decision on who becomes a "Planet Forward Innovator of the Year" -- a chance to be featured online and on TV for a year to see if the winning idea can take flight and change the planet.

The cycle begins and ends with you, the most curious and passionate people who want to move our Planet Forward.  It's innovative journalism about innovations. Don't miss it.

Planet Forward

Planet Forward is a web-to-television initiative that takes on issues of energy, climate and sustainability, and asks citizens and experts alike to “make their case” for an idea they think is game-changing. Combining the reach of social media and the visibility of public broadcasting, Planet Forward looks for original ideas and research, informed opinion, and firsthand experience to feature online and on television. We reward our contributors by giving their ideas increasing levels of public exposure, and an opportunity to present those ideas to decision-makers on television and online.
